Fall Favs | 2020 Edition

It’s my favorite time of the year!

Fall is my favorite season, without a doubt. The air gets a little more crisp, colorful leaves, drinks taste more festive, countless fall recipes to try and the more sweaters the better! There are also countless activities in the fall. However, I know this year will be a bit different than we all anticipated — a global pandemic will do that to you!

I don’t know why it took me five years with a blog to finally make this happen, but this year I’ve decided to curate my Fall Favs — what I have deemed my fall essentials. Let me tell you, pairing this list back to 16 was difficult, but I wanted to hone in on tried and true highlights in each category: home, food/bev, fashion and fun!

1. Afloral Dried Flowers | Afloral has so. many. options. It’s almost dangerous. I personally think dried florals should not be limited to just one season — but if you’re looking for a way to spruce up your home and put your vases on display, look no further.

2. The Guest List book | Looking for a spooky and suspenseful read while you’re cozied up indoors? Most definitely a page turner.

3. Cozy slippers | Who needs shoes anyways when you’re WFH? I practically live in my slippers and when they are this cute, they go with just about any outfit.

4. Binge watch Yellowstone! | Let’s just say, we binge watched all three seasons in about two weeks. Incredible cast and plot and easy to follow. Pro tip: not so easy to watch unless you have an Xfinity account or the Peacock app, though.

5. Ikea fall doormat | The easiest way to spruce up your place from the front door! Also, under $10, talk about a score.

6. Join The Pantry’s wine club | Seattle’s The Pantry has launched a wine subscription service of four curated bottles for the season (you can subscribe for a one time pick up or a monthly subscription). All wines are ethically produced, are hand-picked by The Pantry’s in-house sommelier and come with a bevvy of factoids and recipe pairings.

7. Virgina Sin nested prong bowl | Safe to say I want one in every color! Love to keep ours as a standalone piece on the mantle, but can most definitely be used for more productive reasons like holding decorative items, fruit, etc.

8. TJ’s spiced cider | If you haven’t had this spiced cider from Trader Joe’s, you haven’t truly experienced fall. Add a little whiskey in with your spiced cider and you’ll thank me later.

9. Always pan from Our Place | Our go-to cooking accessory in this house! The best non-stick pan we’ve ever owned, hands down. For searing, steaming, sautéing, frying, boiling, serving, storing, all that jazz. Also, the color (honestly, any of them! We own spice) will fit right in with all of your other fall decor.

10. Pumpkin Clove Capri Blue candle | Don’t AT me. This is the best fall candle to date. I’ve gotten more family and friends hooked than I can count. I stock up at Anthropologie. Go with the large size, you won’t be sorry.

11. Mrs. Meyers acorn spice hand soap | Am I the only one that likes to rotate our dish soaps and hand soaps for each season? With Mrs. Meyers, it’s so easy to do so! Every season there is a new scent, and I’m personally a big advocate for all things fall — bring on the apple cider or acorn spice, take your pick.

12. Velvet duvet | ‘tis the season to switch up the bedding. I purchased this velvet duvet from Opalhouse last year when we realized we couldn’t muster through winter without something more hefty. So worth it and great quality! Comes in a variety of color options — we opted for terracotta because it suits the vibe of our room and the season.

13. Pieceworks puzzles | You might be puzzled-out after COVID stuck, but is there really any better fall activity when you’re wanting a cozy night at home? And while you’re at it, investing in a puzzle that is this aesthetically pleasing makes it so much more fun!

14. Lux Eros mug | I discovered the artist and this brand a few years back and finally made the executive decision we needed to own two of their mugs. Enjoying a cup of coffee, cider, tea (so many options in the fall) just looks and tastes that much better in a mug this beautiful.

15. Snag the September Issue of Vogue | If you have yet to pounce on the September issue of Vogue for 2020, what are you waiting for? This year’s cover features a black artist on the cover and it’s truly a thing of beauty. I love the focus on equality and representing black artists and voices, if there is one thing I want more of after 2020, it’s THIS.

16. Gigi Pip hats | Honestly, the one accessory I can’t get enough of every fall. Gigi Pip’s hats are an incredible quality for the price and tons of options in terms of size, color and material. In the fall, I’m personally a fan of their felt wide brim hats.

Oh, there’s more!
