City Guide: Meandering through NYC museums

One of my top priorities when visiting New York for my first time recently, was the museums. As a designer and avid art lover, I was in heaven. We visited The MoMA and The Whitney Museum (my personal favorite). MoMA had so many amazing pieces featured from art history made by artists like Picasso, Van Gogh, Monet and Mondrian. Seeing works of art that I studied while in design school was breathtaking to see in person. My personal favorites from MoMA was Van Gogh's Starry Night as well as Monet's large floral and water paintings that extended an entire gallery wall. However, the Whitney was without question, my favorite museum. On every floor of the museum you get to soak in modern art installations, interactive art and themed galleries.

The New York Explorer pass is a great way to visit these museums on a budget! Definitely take into account it takes hours (even a whole day depending on how much of an art buff you are) to meander through the museums. If you're on a time crunch, I highly recommend researching what galleries are featured at the museums in advance to see what is worth visiting.
