City Guide: Big Apple Highlights for first-timers

I've just wrapped up editing the last of my photos from my (first) trip to New York City and I'm already missing this incredible place. I fell in love with New York and how fast-paced, intentional and go, go, go the city is and the people within it are. Although I was in New York for just less than a week, I feel like I barely scratched the surface of the city since there is truly so much to do and see. However, for my first time visiting, I am so thankful for what all was packed into this trip and what all is left to see for my next.

In case you missed my last two New York city guide posts, I've decided to compile a final summary of my recommendations and must-visit places in New York for first-timers.

The New York Public Library

Ride the Staten Island Ferry

Walk the Brooklyn Bridge and order a Brooklyn style pizza

Stroll through Washington Square

Soak in views from the Empire State Building

Grab lunch and stroll through Chelsea Market (my favorite!)

Visit the museums! My favorites? The Whitney and MoMA.

See a show on Broadway. I saw The Book of Mormon and it was so well done (and hilarious!)

Visit Ground Zero | 9/11 memorial. It's raw, emotional and a must-visit.

Take a walk through Central Park.

Visit the Top of the Rock and the ice skating rink below -- PSA, this rink is way smaller in person than the tv/movies make it seem.
