Similar to New Year's Eve, the 4th of July is a holiday that always manages to creep up on me. Very rarely do I make plans up until 24 hours before. All I care about is spending some down time with friends, watching fireworks (maybe lighting a few sparklers), consuming some patriotic cocktails and if I'm lucky, getting out on the water. I always am a sucker for wearing a stylish yet patriotic-inspired outfit but often sans the stars and stripes. Here's my personal take on 4th of July wear.

One can never go wrong with a sassy tee, believe me, I have plenty. When I spotted this LA CROIX OVER BOYS shirt I was sold. I'm a huge fan of La Croix (I drink it on a weekly basis) and whenever I can incorporate a witty tee into a look, I make it happen. Tucked into my favorite shorts of the summer: my Linen Tie Front Floral Shorts that are JOA brand sold by Seattle-based Peridot Boutique (ALSO, if you haven't checked out their newly launched website - go shop your way through it! You'll thank me later.)

I've got my white and blue on lock and now, when it comes to red, I'm a little more flexible. Pops of bright coral do the trick for me and it's all through the use of accessorizing in this outfit. My statement coral and metallic Nordstrom necklace and French Connection crossbody bag I scored from the Nordstrom Rack give my outfit just the pop of color it needs. As mentioned in previous blog posts, I'm a gold girl. So stacking up a few gold bangles (this studded one from Nordstrom is always a personal favorite) is the perfect way to show off some arm candy.

To dress my look up a bit more I vouched for these tie-up grey suede mules from Free People. I mean, who can resist a sparkly heel? These mules are extremely comfortable since they aren't towering in height and transition an outfit nicely from day to evening.

The key to dressing up for the 4th is to embrace comfort and have FUN with your look! After all, 4th of July is one of the best holidays to celebrate and have FUN with loved ones!

Cheers to America, I wish you all a happy and safe 4th of July!
