I all but dropped my phone the other day when I saw next week's weather forecast for Seattle. We're talking high-70's and low-80's people! We haven't seen or felt that type of sunshine in well over a year and I'm so ready.

Slowly but surely my summer dresses, sandals and shorts have crept their way to the front of my closet in the past few weeks as well as one of my other favorite trends of spring and summer: the off the shoulder. Off the shoulder is a major trend alert for summer as it's a playful way to show a little skin in a stylish way. In fact, off the shoulder is making such a statement this season it's deemed acceptable for day looks, work outfits and evening attire.

This Tobi off the shoulder top is one of my favorites as we transition into summer weather and that's because of its pastel lavender, simplistic fit and gorgeous tie detailing on each shoulder sleeve. Wearing this top makes me feel instantly more feminine. Now that I'm embracing more color and pattern in my wardrobe as of late, this top integrates into almost any outfit quite nicely. A pair of striped black and white chiffon pants from ZARA are work appropriate and bold. I've been over-wearing them lately but they seriously go with anything. Playful prints mixed with a solid color are one of my favorite pairings and this top and pant combined truly makes the outfit sing. Complimented by my zany/'I couldn't resist these because they have poms' Nine West Rizzah Open Toe Sandals in a vibrant pink suede (on sale for $59!) also brings another color to the mix. Aren't these shoes too fun?

One of my favorite ways to accessorize an off the shoulder top is with statement jewelry. Stack up your favorite bangles on your wrists, throw on a pair of eye-catching earrings or my personal favorite, a bold necklace. This floral 7 Charming Sisters necklace always manages to make its appearance in spring/summer months for its summery yellow color and metallic accent.

Off the shoulder tops are meant to be playful so experiment with how you integrate them into an outfit whether it be how you accessorize, what colors you wear it with or if it's something as simple as tucking your top into a pair of pants or going ultra feminine and wearing it with a girly skirt. The options are truly endless and this trend is most definitely not going away any time soon!
