I can't believe Valentine's Day is less than a week away! I'm such a sucker for the "day of love" because it's a day you can be as cheesy as you want with your loved ones or significant other! It's also the perfect day to plan something fun to do, pick out a corny card and rock a stylish outfit suited for whatever occasion you have planned.

Despite the chilly February weather we have been having in Seattle, I'm not letting weather dictate my feminine and fabulous look I have picked out for Valentine's Day. After all, sometimes it's nice to be a little in denial...right?

This winter I'm all about pastels in just about every shade in the book. But lately, I've been really enjoying the color blush. When I spotted this Maude 'All Tied Up Knit Top' with it's open shoulders, front tie detailing and bell sleeves, it took all of 5 seconds for me to put it into my online shopping cart. This top makes a statement on its own so it makes styling the rest of my look incredibly easy. Although jeans look great paired with this top, I opted for my front zip white mini skirt from Nordstrom to dress up my look.

To sass up my look but avoid being overly dressy in heels, I'm wearing my new favorite pair of ankle boots, my Chinese Laundry 'Cool Kid Sleek Booties' that give me a little extra height and a whole lot of confidence no matter the outfit. I'd been on the hunt for a reliable (comfortable, sturdy material, weatherproof) and stylish pair of black ankle boots for over a year and never found anything I liked. I love a pair of shoes that can go with anything but aren't going to make me fear a broken ankle (or two) because the heel is too high. I'm telling you, these shoes are the real deal! After all, black booties are a staple in any girl's closet. Not to mention, they are on SALE right now so go snag them before they are gone!

For accessorizing, I wanted to keep things simple since my outfit does most of the talking already. A thin black banded choker necklace from Nordstrom is simplicity at its finest.

Of course, not pictured is the umbrella and rain coat I plan on having along with me as I wear this outfit on Valentine's Day, because let's be real, your girl will be celebrating the most love-filled day of the year here in Washington.
