The color of the season

We're inching that much closer to the holidays and I'm SO excited! I'll be spending my Christmas with family in Colorado this year and I have my fingers crossed for some snow. I've been in such a holiday mood the last few weeks listening to Christmas music, sending off my Christmas cards and wrapping presents I have found the holidays are sneaking their way into my wardrobe. The holidays are evident in my accessory choices and layers (an absolute must for these cold Seattle days we've been having!) I've noticed one color palette I just really can't seem to get enough of this December is the berry shades - from rich berry hues to lighter, pastel pinks, it's apparent I'm seeing life through rose tinted glasses lately! And I'm perfectly okay with that.

Don't get me wrong, I love me some winter neutrals, but lately, I've been embracing outfits that are fully monochromatic (throwing in just about every complimentary shade except for the kitchen sink!) This outfit, for example, does just that.

I received this beautiful Coming Up Roses Lace Ruffle Blouse from Seattle-based Rollick around the same time I purchased these Steve Madden 'blush' lace-up sneakers from Nordstrom and couldn't resist pairing these two pieces together. Instead of pairing my top with jeans or leggings (a safe go-to in the winter) I decided it would be fun to stick to my pink palette and rock my Peridot Boutique jumpsuit underneath my top to stick to a head-to-toe pink look. *(Personal style tip: Layering a jumpsuit under a top is one of my favorite ways to keep wearing them all winter long) This is definitely an outfit that's comfortable, classy and appropriate for weekending, work or when you're on the go during the day.

I fell in love with this dusty rose colored blouse due to all of its beautiful details! This blouse is so feminine and chic with the ruffles in the front, intricate lace detailing and buttons on the sleeves and back at the neck. I've worn this blouse with a skirt and boots for date night, layered over jeans for running errands and now, with this jumpsuit for weekend fun! I love versatile pieces like this that are flattering in both fit and style.

To maintain the monochromatic aesthetic of this outfit, I went bold with my Sugarfix by Bauble Bar Bold Beaded Statement Necklace in Berry.  I get countless compliments on this necklace every time I wear it because it's such a statement piece. The color itself is perfect for holiday outfits and it looks great layered with a chunky knit, turtleneck or feminine blouse (like this one!)

As I mentioned, my Steve Madden sneakers are one of the reasons this outfit came to be! I truly cannot begin to express my love for these shoes. They are unbelievably comfortable, unique in appearance and go with so many different outfits they are well worth the $49! I love when I can pair an item of athleisure with an outfit that's a little more dressed up. It creates a fun cohesion of comfort and style which is something I try to embrace everyday in my personal style! Not only do these shoes compliment my outfit oh, so perfectly but they are also the best shoes to wear when I'm weekend-ing with lots to do and see!

With a pop of color on my lips (courtesy of Julep) and another pop of color on my shoulder...hello, Coach crossbody (of my dreams) I'm a walking ombre of my favorite shade of the season!

FRIENDS: I highly encourage you to rock a monochrome-inspired outfit with your own personal twist and tag #WCAMONOCHROME so I can check out your favorite way to style a head-to-toe monochromatic look!
