Nautical summer style

When it's sunny and hot outside you best believe you can find me in or by the water! I am such a sucker for the nautical trend whether it be stripes, coverups or boat shoes. However, in this outfit, I wanted to play up my love for nautical style but put my own little spin on it.

I recently scored this crochet dress in coral by Chinese Laundry that I found at the Nordstrom Rack and it has been my summer staple and is one item of clothing I receive so many compliments on. What attracted me to this dress in the first place was the style and the color --  I love a bright coral and it's a color I don't own much of. The detailing of the dress is my favorite part, I love the subtle crochet pattern and the scalloped edge of the base of the dress. The back also has a fun gold zipper. To add some layering to my outfit and to make this dress a little more casual and nautical-inspired, I am wearing my Old Navy chambray denim pullover. This top is super light and goes with everything! It's an awesome layering piece.

Although I love a good boat shoe for when I'm on the water, my Zara metallic oxfords do the trick. They are such a bold shoe to wear and really make a statement with any outfit I pair them with.

I had the opportunity to collaborate with 7 Charming Sisters on this post and received one of their amazing stylish statement necklaces to feature in my look and I knew that I'd want to pair my coral dress with the yellow and metallic-accented necklace I selected since the colors compliment each other so nicely. This necklace has become one of my favorites to style because of all of its layers and bold appearance. 7 Charming Sisters is unique in that you can purchase your jewelry by selecting styles that are more you -- you can do this by taking a "sister quiz" on their website that will help you determine what types of jewelry suit your personality and style. It's a great personalized option I wish more brands embraced.
