Eva NYC | Ulta Beauty Hair Remedy

When it comes to hair products, I like to keep my product routine simple and use products that give me results. After dying my hair from platinum blonde to brunette almost a year ago, I have noticed an extreme difference in how healthy my hair is now. My hair grows faster, I have less breakage and overall, I love how I can hide greasy hair easier with brunette hair than when my hair was super light. One issue I’ve always struggled with (no matter the hair color) is the lack of volume or texture my hair naturally has. I also struggle with taming random frizz and flyaway hairs on humid, summer days. This is where new products come into play.

Lucky for me, I had the opportunity to try out a few products from Eva NYC based in Brooklyn, New York to help me out in the styling department as well as to tame my locks and provide them with volume and strength.

Also, can we take a second to admire the beautiful package design of these products!?

I was able to try out the following products by Eva currently being sold at ULTA (and for a great price! $3 off all Eva NYC products through the end of May):

Eva NYC Get Glossed! Hair Serum – infused with Keravis Protein and Argan Oil, helps strengthen hair, tame frizz, adds instant shine and provides heat protection

Here’s my low down on serums: I am always hesitant to try them because I am impatient to see results; however, within several days of using this Eva NYC serum I noticed a significant improvement with how healthy my ends in particular look and feel. I apply this serum before I use any heat (blowdryer, straightener, etc.) and work it through my ends – once dry, my ends don’t look dried out or frazzled. It also is great to use (sparingly – you don’t want to look like a greaseball!) after heat is applied to tame additional flyaways and add extra shine – I particularly like doing this when I wave my hair because it makes the waves look more sleek and beachy.

Eva NYC Freshen Up Dry Shampoo –

I never jumped on the dry shampoo bandwagon because I used to wash my hair everyday before realizing that was not necessary or healthy for your hair. With limiting hair washing comes the potential of greasy hair, which is not stylish or flattering on anyone. However, this is when dry shampoo comes into play.

On day two of not washing my hair this past week, I noticed my hair was starting to look pretty greasy in spots especially around my scalp, so I decided to give this dry shampoo a whirl. Sparingly, I applied it to my roots and worked it carefully through my ends and was happily surprised with how it morphed my hair into what appeared to be a freshly-washed and styled ‘do. I even was able to rock a half up/half down hairstyle during the day and threw it up in a pony at night and it still appeared fresh and oil-free. Talk about a lifesaver on vacations, summer camping trips, days where you have early flights or days you just want to sleep in and skip a shower.

Eva NYC Surfs Up! Texture Spray –

I don’t know why I haven’t played around with various texture/volume sprays in the past to give my naturally flat hair more oomph but oh man, am I happy to have tried this stuff! For someone with naturally (but inconsistent) wavy hair, it’s nice to use a product that brings out more volume and waves all while giving it a fresh off the beach vibe but still looking styled. I hate when products feel chunky, heavy and greasy in my hair, so I am always nervous to try additional product besides serums, shampoos and conditioners. But texture spray is a must! It’s light and great for styling when you’re on the go. Especially during the summer when you want to look natural yet put together.
