Cruising the coast

There is so much to be thankful for, three things that come to mind: weekends spent exploring coastal towns and lookouts even when it is stormy, having a boyfriend who is always down for a road trip and is willing to drive (both legs) of said road trip and living somewhere where these scenic coastal views are accessible!

Tristan and I braved the northwest monsoon for a weekend and took a drive down to Lincoln City in Oregon for a getaway at the Salishan Resort and Spa for some much-needed R&R. As relaxed as I was from the good food, cabin comfort and massages at the spa, my favorite part of our weekend journey was the coastal cruise back home to Seattle.

We meandered through small coastal towns and lookouts like Seaside, Hug Point State Park, Oswald West State Park, Tillamook and lastly (my favorite) Cannon Beach. Despite the stormy weather and crazy wind, we managed to catch some scenic views along the way that made the longer drive well worth it. Now the countdown for summer is on so we can retrace our steps along the coast for some weekends spent camping!

Here are some of my favorite trip highlights:
