Distressed Denim: Date Night

It's almost contradicting to pull out a distressed pair of jeans when you're getting dressed up for date night but as mentioned in my previous Distressed Denim post, it's all about how you style the look to make it appropriate for the occasion!

In my second distressed denim look from my latest creative collaboration with KNDM Co., I am showcasing how to best style distressed jeans for a date night look. For this look, I'm pairing two of my favorite things: denim and leather, there's truly nothing better! I'm once again rocking my American Eagle medium washed jeans with just the perfect amount of distress. I enjoy an outfit that has interesting use of layering, so for this look I decided to pair a black sheer tanktop from Nordstrom -- I love this tank top because it mainly flows longer in the back providing a unique layer to a look. Over the top of my tank, I'm wearing a striped long-sleeve pullover cropped shirt from Target. By incorporating this layering over the top of my jeans, it almost resembles a dress being worn over the top of my jeans. It allows my look to appear more on the dressier side. However, the jeans still keep my outfit more on the casual side.

To turn my overall outfit into full-fledged date night attire, I am wearing my Urban Outfitters moto-zip leather jacket which works well as another layering piece. I love this leather jacket because it goes with EVERYTHING and is capable of dressing up any outfit when paired correctly. It's also more on the lighter-side so it's a great layering piece to rock every season. And let's be real, leather is timeless.

For shoes, heels are a must for date night! But they don't need to be sky-high. My go-to night out shoes are my Steve Madden wedge heels -- you can't go wrong with a stylish black wedge heel. These shoes are so comfortable and go with everything! Pairing these shoes with distressed jeans is my favorite because they help to kick an otherwise casual look up a notch. Surprisingly, I felt compelled to add some color into my otherwise monochromatic look, so I decided to rock my coral and metallic statement necklace from Nordstrom. The metallics of this necklace help accent the zippers on my leather jacket and coral always makes for the perfect pop of color!

Don't be afraid to try wearing pieces you normally wouldn't consider "date night appropriate" like your distressed denim -- have fun with mixing dressier and casual pieces to make an overall edgy outfit come to life.
