Why fall athleisure is the bomb
No matter what time of year it is, I just simply can't get enough of athleisure! To its core, the athleisure trend revolves around comfortable pieces that are also stylish in contrast. It's the best of both worlds, especially on days when you're on the go but want to avoid wearing yoga pants in public.
Personally, my version of athleisure means layers, comfort and rocking a statement piece (or two). When I spotted this Bombs Away Fleece Bomber Jacket from Maude (unfortunately, sold out online at the moment), I knew it would be the perfect piece to add to my wardrobe that could be dressed up for date night or dressed down for a more casual, athleisure-inspired look. I love the shape of this jacket and all of its detailing - from the patchwork on the sleeves to the frontal zipper and pockets, it's become one of my favorite statement pieces to wear in an outfit and an extremely comfortable one at that, needless to say it's the bomb.
My Kersh Chunky Dolman Pullover (not currently online) is the perfect neutral sweater with its faded monochrome color palette to pair with my military green bomber. Pairing layers like this cozy knit sweater with my fleece jacket is the key to staying warm on chilly, fall days in Seattle.
For pants, I am wearing my Target black joggers, the staple of my athleisure outfit. These pants are also the best for traveling because they are so lightweight and don't wrinkle! I also love the cuffed detailing on the bottom which draws attention to whatever shoes I am wearing -- whether they are heels or athletic shoes. Speaking of shoes, my Adidas 'Superstar' Sneakers are by far the most comfortable pairs of shoes I own! I had my eye on Adidas sneakers for months before I was leaving for my New York trip because I wanted shoes that were stylish yet reliable for walking long distances, so I decided to make the splurge and it was well worth it! They are now my go-to shoes to wear in casual everyday outfits.
Accessorizing this outfit revolved around one statement piece, a bold, metallic statement necklace from Forever21. I love how it brings out the colors in my outfit, especially my knit sweater. To keep the focus on my necklace, I'm wearing my 14k gold fill Krikos Earrings from Fresh Tangerine, a local Seattle-based jewelry boutique featuring handcrafted jewelry pieces. Dainty, minimal jewelry pieces are my favorite!
Athleisure is one of the best trends to date that truly allows you to embrace your unique style with the focus revolving around comfort.
