Styling gingham for spring

Lately, I've been on a print kick (check out my recent post on stripes). I love integrating print into outfits when and where I can, especially a timeless print like gingham. I remember the gingham days when they revolved around my dad's ties or a boss lady pantsuit you'd see on TV. And now, at age 26, I'm fully embracing this classic pattern we all know and love, all year round.

I own gingham in the form of pants, tops and scarves but I wanted to switch things up for spring. Hello, gingham in the form of a skort. Talk about the perfect transitional piece for spring and summer months! Not to mention the convenience of an item of clothing that doesn't make you panic when there's even the slightest breeze. I scored this skort (I dare you to say that five times fast) from Peridot Boutique located in Upper Queen Anne and fell in love with it the moment I laid my eyes on it. It's currently sold out online, but you can shop their other gingham items at the store or on their website! From the pattern to the front tie detailing, it's an effortless and chic choice for a spring outfit.

Gingham always looks stellar when paired with a pop of color, so before I made my way out of the boutique I caught a glance at this coral ruffle sleeve top on sale and knew it'd be the perfect pairing for my skort. I opted for tucking my top into my skort to really show of the frontal detailing. This summer, I plan on pairing a graphic tee with the skort or a bright colored tank.

Gingham is a playful print to incorporate into your spring and summer wardrobe! It's fun and fairly easy to style, looks great on and looks even better when paired with an aesthetically-pleasing backdrop. (Curious about where these photos were taken? If you guessed the Santa Monica Pier you are correct!)

I'd love to see how you style gingham, as it's such a versatile print to wear. Tag me in your styled posts or leave a comment below!
