Happy hump day, friends! I tend to feel the most inspired when I'm halfway through the week and this week is no different. In fact, I'm feeling even more energized to share more content with you in the coming days, weeks, months, etc. after my recent trip to LA! After a little creative hiatus to reset, refocus and regroup, I'm ready for the changes to come both in the form of my blog West Coast Aesthetic and in life! Life's feeling bright, bold and beautiful and I felt it was only appropriate to share an outfit post that checked all of those boxes as well.

Introducing, sunny shades in the grey (for those of us that are living in Seattle). This winter has felt like a constant mixture of cold, rainy, snowy with only a handful of sunny days in between. I've found wearing vibrant colors has helped improve my mood this winter. In this case, I'm talking about the color yellow. Yellow is a color I've always loved, it's bold and it makes me feel empowered no matter the shade.

I received this Gold Creek Knit cardigan from Ollie + Co. and it's been my go-to for winter days where I need some color and layers! It's currently on sale for a steal: $35 and it's going fast! I love wearing this cardigan in a variety of ways: with a dress, paired over a turtleneck or as seen in this look: fairly casual with a lace silk camisole underneath. The cardigan is open with no zippers or ties which makes it nice for easy layering. Standing at 5'3, this cardigan tends to hit me right above the knee so it doesn't swallow me up or feel too short on the torso. My favorite part about this cardigan would have to be the fact it has pockets...hallelujah! That should be a must for all cardigans, right?

For styling, I decided to tuck my cardigan into my Abercrombie & Fitch distressed high-waisted girlfriend denim jeans that come in a lighter wash. Accessorizing comes into play with black Sol Sana booties and a black belt. This outfit is one I've worn to work, to happy hour and on the weekends!

Are you a fan of the color yellow too? I've decided to share with you some more of my favorite yellow pieces that are great to wear this season (whether you're staying local or on vacay) and all are under $100.
