There are only a few hours holding me back from an early start to my weekend spent in San Francisco with Tristan, friends and family! After a stressful week of work and being sick at the start of the week, I'm so ready for some down time in between all of the fun! And with down time comes a comfortable (yet stylish) outfit. Bring on fall athleisure! Yes, it's a thing and yes, it's going to be in constant rotation for me this season. This outfit being one of my go-to's and one I was sporting this past weekend.

I love a good statement piece and nothing makes more of a cute (and comfortable) statement like this Shop Maude distressed ruffled sleeve sweater by the brand Honey Punch - sadly, it's currently sold out. I truthfully am having a hard time saying no to ruffles this fall, especially when they consist of a comfortable cotton fabric!

On the weekends, you can find me in my favorite style of jeans: raw hem. I can't get enough! The more raw hem, the better, in my book. I am constantly receiving compliments on these Zara distressed raw hem jeans I purchased last summer. They're fitted but more boyfriend/relaxed in the leg and they taper down to a slightly flared raw hem. Also, did I mention they are distressed? I swear the majority of my jeans have a little distress and roughness to them.

On the weekends, I usually vouch for sneakers like my Adidas or New Balance for style and comfort, but sometimes, I can't resist a block heel. These Steve Madden suede gray lace-up heels are my favorites. I'm shocked they don't look more worn after how many times I've worn them all spring, summer and now fall! But who doesn't love a versatile shoe?! The height of the heel is only a couple of inches so they make running errands, hitting up a weekend brunch or lounging around on a Sunday effortless.

I'm also a bit too excited about my new fall staples! One of which are my crystal clear pair of Warby Parker frames. Yes, I actually do wear glasses (but opt for contacts most days!) I only wish I could spend $10 on faux frames. But, I'm happily pleased with my first Warby Parker purchase. I didn't have them fitted properly after buying them so they ended up sitting on my nightstand for weeks until I finally had a free moment on the weekend to visit the local University Village Warby Parker store. I took them in to get re-fitted and the frame adjustment was FREE! Such an amazing deal - I now know where I'll be purchasing all of my frames going forward.

Speaking of fall staples, who's to say you can't wear a little bling on the weekends? Not this girl! I love accessorizing in athleisure inspired outfits because it adds a little intrigue to the look. I'm wearing my brand new Crystal Warrior Bib Statement Necklace from Sugar Fix by Bauble Bar. This necklace is so bold and although I'm usually opting for gold jewelry, I was so smitten with this silver necklace. It's been such a fun one to style over fall items like sweaters, sweatshirts (in this look's case) and blouses. I'm also super excited to share with you all that Sugar Fix is now sold exclusively at Target Stores and online at target.com! The best part? All of the jewelry is under $30! Talk about a score.

You also can't forget to top off a fall athleisure look without a handbag. My Nordstrom Top Shop black tote is one of my favorites. I scored this gem two years ago during Anniversary Sale. It's so versatile! It can be worn with a shoulder strap or you can opt to just use the handles, it's based on your preference! This bag fits everything I need in my life: my camera, phone, laptop, water bottle, wallet, makeup bag and more! It's the perfect weekend bag, work bag or carry-on purse for travel.

Fall athleisure, to me, is comfortable but shows off some personality. Let your favorite accessories shine and consider adding a statement 'comfort' piece to your wardrobe this fall. Some hot trends for fall athleisure? Embroidered or ruffled sweatshirts, sleek track pants, joggers and drop crotch pants. All are definitely worth considering or at least trying on in the dressing room! Happy weekend friends, whenever your weekend begins, I hope you have a wonderful one!

PS. How cute is Giulia of Palm Trees & Pellegrino in this post!? xo
