The key to natural beauty with Primally Pure Skincare

As many of you know, I’m always sharing the ups & downs of having sensitive skin. Mostly, the downside because it can be such a struggle to find products that don’t irritate my skin or make me break out or have a horrible allergic reaction (contact dermatitis is no fun, folks!)

I’m usually weary to try new products especially from brands that aren’t as vocal about what ingredients they use. The older I’m getting, the more proactive I’m getting about doing my research before jumping the gun and buying beauty products that are “on trend” or raved about by other influencers.

I’m happy to report Primally Pure Skincare, the latest beauty brand I’m raving about is the result of doing my due diligence / research and discovering that their overall brand identity falls in line with what I need from beauty products. Primally Pure products are 100% natural and use non-toxin ingredients. I appreciate using products that feel custom-made for me and my skin type and are also bettering the environment, too.

I was lucky enough to try out three products from Primally Pure (I already have more added to my Christmas list!) and am here to report back the real results.

Charcoal Deodorant - here’s the scoop. I’ve been dying to try out a charcoal deodorant for months after doing research on the downsides to everyday deodorant (especially those scented brands). But honestly, i just didn’t really know where to start. If you haven’t done your research on the hazards behind using conventional drugstore deodorant, take a gander at this article.

Primally Pure’s natural deodorants contain a small amount of baking soda to fight off odor and also contains kaolin clay and non-nano zinc oxide — what do these two things do? The kaolin clay works as a powerful detoxifier and the non-nano zinc oxide aims to soothe irritation. Other key ingredients include: grass-fed tallow, fair trade coconut oil, arrowroot powder, beeswax and essential oils.

The deodorant does not stain and goes on rather transparent. My body wasn’t used to using natural charcoal deodorant so I noticed I was sweating more than usual. So I was applying 2-3 times a day before my body was finally used to the morning application. I just got used to transporting this deodorant with me in my makeup bag — they have 1.7 oz and 2.5 oz sizes.

The other product I’m using rather frequently is the Lemongrass Body Oil. This body oil smells incredibly fresh but is not overwhelming. It contains essentials oils that leave your skin feeling smooth, healthy and glowing. I combat dry skin every fall/winter so I’ve been using this body oil after I shower (applying from the neck down) and I love how it leaves my skin feeling smooth but not sticky.

Just in case you’re curious about what other ingredients are in the body oil, I’ve listed them out here: Fractionated Coconut Oil, Sunflower Oil*, Kukui Nut Oil, Sweet Almond Oil*, Argan Oil*, Tamanu Oil*, Lemongrass Essential Oil*

Lastly, the product I’m almost out of (seriously) and using daily is the Geranium Complexion Mist. I SWEAR by my face mists — I use them as both a setting spray and as a refresh throughout the day. I always ensure my mist is in my purse when I’m at work, on the go or traveling. I give myself 2-3 mists in the morning after my makeup is on and use it about 2-4 times throughout the day. I also like to mist myself after I wash my face at night to feel refreshed before going to bed.

The main reason I love this mist in particular is because it targets tired/dull skin and aids cell turnaround. It’s suitable for all skin types as a hydration mist and toner due to its natural ingredients (no parabens/fragrances, just essential oils!) They have other scents too, if geranium just isn’t your thing.

For all my fellow sensitive skin babes out there or those looking to invest in natural, affordable skincare products, Primally Pure is worth a try. It’s a brand that makes you appreciate the time and effort put into sourcing natural ingredients and educating the public on the effects these natural ingredients can have on your skin. PS. They also have products for men and baby too!
