Florals and Stripes with The Modern Mosaic | Look One

I recently had the exciting opportunity to collaborate with fellow Seattle blogger McKenna Moe of The Modern Mosaic and Seattle photographer KNDM Co on a styled duo blogger shoot. It's always so much fun collaborating with other local bloggers but getting to select style inspiration, mood board and model/shoot together is even more fun! McKenna and I wanted our collaboration series to encapsulate spring morphing into summer by mixing and matching bold patterns like stripes and florals all while keeping our looks personalized and true to our individuals styles. Our styles, while unique to us, just so happened to compliment each other perfectly during our shoot!

One of my favorite parts of this project was pulling inspiration on a shared Pinterest board. It helped to slim down our ideas, select our favorite looks and determine an overall aesthetic of our shoot.

In our first looks, we wanted to keep things more on the casual side and perfect for a sunny, summer day. When mixing and matching bold patterns like florals and stripes, have fun with it! It can even be subtle.

During the day, a summer dress that is light and breezy is the way to go, if you're wanting to add some layers throw on a lightweight pullover top. To keep things casual during the day stick to flats or sandals; you can simply throw on wedges and heels to switch your outfit into evening/date-night wear. To keep the focus on your pattern-play, keep accessories to a minimum. Our suggestions? We prefer a statement necklace or bracelet mixed with a pair of bold sunnies. These make for the perfect complimentary pieces.
